Salvador Dali Inspired Manicure
My good friend Laura came to me with a challenge, she wanted a gel manicure and she wanted some Salvador Dali art. I haven’t done anything really detailed with gel polish but we picked a couple paintings and jumped head first into this!

31 Day Manicure Challenge Day 18: Half Moon Manicure
This was my first attempt at a half moon manicure and it did not go smoothly. First I ran in to Dollar General this morning to find the round stickers used to reinforce holes, but they didn’t have any. I settled for some round stickers which I hope would work. Spoiler: they weren’t great. Next I had a look in mind but had trouble getting my base color to go on nicely. It was like I suddenly forgot how to make polish work! Argh! 31 Day Manicure Challenge Day 16 & 17: Tribal and Glitter
Getting ready for my state board tests is exciting and scary!! I’m not sure if I’m more worried about the written or practical. The written is full of stuff like anatomy and chemistry which tends to fly out of your head when you are nervous. The practical is in front of some very picky judges. I think I’m ready, but I’m not taking anything as a given.
31 Day Manicure Challenge, Day 15: Delicate Print
I picked up a few new Gelish polishes just in time for this manicure, including a taupe and seafoam that are both very trendy this spring. After 3 coats of Seafoam on my ring finger I used a black gel polish and a nail art brush to create a delicate floral pattern. I am loving this and feel a bit of spring despite the cold weather! International Women’s Day
Today, apparently, it’s a International Women’s Day. Wiki article to enlighten you. First celebrated in 1909 it has become a mixture of Mothers Day and Valentine’s Day in some places, while others use it as a time to bring awareness to issues of gender equality and domestic violence. Whatever you might do today take a moment to appreciate how awesome it is to be a woman! Here’s my way of celebrating, a manicure of course!
